Surprise Getaway

At the end of the last school semester I started getting to the end of my rope. I was so exhausted and just completely over school in general. I told my husband with enthusiasm that this was going to be the BEST summer ever. I day dreamed about the cool breezes, hot sunshine and salt in the air. I dreamed of freedom. One of my wishes was that this summer we could go on a mini vacation. Money had been a little bit tight so I told Erick over and over that it didn't have to be anything extravagant, I just wanted to have a getaway to look forward to. I hinted and hinted and hinted but nothing happened and quite honestly, I forgot I had ever asked. It was about midnight on the fourth of July that Erick asked me if I was too sleepy to pack my bags. His question didn't make much sense until he explained that he was taking us on a weekend vacation to one of my favorite places in the world, Hume Lake! I screamed and squealed and danced around the house.. we packed our things, hardly slept and headed off for a weekend that was truly unforgettable. What a blessing it is to have such an amazing husband. I'll never be able to truly express how much I appreciate this man.
